Overview

This is a 10-minute, scenario-driven standalone lesson from a larger personal-lines Storyline course. This lesson helps new and seasoned agents quickly define, locate, and apply various coverages and options on a P&C insurance policy.

Learners work through three mini-stories, making real-time decisions and seeing how their choices affect customer insurance coverage and premiums.

The Challenge

Agents often struggle to translate the legal language of insurance into plain-English explanations for customers. We needed an engaging refresher that:

  • reinforce textbook insurance definitions, such as deductible reimbursement,

  • where to locate on a declaration sheet, and

  • let learners practice calculating “out-of-pocket” costs in a risk-free environment

The Approach

Design Move

  • Branching scenarios with consequence layers
  • Downloadable fake policy
  • Micro-stats slide
  • WCAG-friendly interactions

Why it Matters

  • Immediate “what if?” feedback lets learners see the financial impact of each choice.
  • Branching scenarios with consequence layers.
  • Mirrors a real dec page so agents practice on a safe, fictitious document before working with live data.
  • End-of-lesson dashboard highlights correct/incorrect attempts and recommends follow-up resources.
  • All drag-and-drops are keyboard-accessible; text alternatives provided for screen readers.
